The pleasures of being a frustrated mom

Dear Reader,

Every word that I have written below is true and is from my heart. Some things that I have spoken about below, are things which I was always uncomfortable saying or discussing earlier; but I guess time is the biggest healer. I am able to speak out my mind now with much lesser hesitation today. Also though my baby has both an official as well as a nick name, and very nice ones too - Atharv and Riju - yet through out my story I have not used any of these names. The reason is that I feel what I have written below is not my story alone, but the voice of many moms who feel the same way. By adding my own baby's name to it, I do not want Atharv to be guilty of what he did unknowingly as a baby, when he grows up and reads this whole thing one day. What he does today, is what ALL babies on this earth do. But the difference lies in the fact, that though I know some of my friends feel what what I am going through today, I am not sure if ALL the mothers feel the same way?

------------------------------------------------

I had always wanted to have a child of my own, even if I did not always want to always marry. :) Well I was most certain about the second part, if not the first; until I met my own prince charming - Abhinav. We got married in 2004 and since 2007 have been struggling to have a kid of our own. After my ectopic in 2007, I was shattered when the infertility center tests declared that the only fallopian tube I was left with, was blocked and that it was impossible for me to conceive by natural means. But perhaps the infertility results were incorrect only this one time (or as they have always been, just one more time in the case of my near and dear ones) Or perhaps God must have tipped the astrologers; who much before our marriage had predicted to my in-laws that my second pregnancy would be a success. What ever be it, within a month or two of those tests, we came to know that we were soon to become parents.

On Nov 22nd 2008, after waiting exactly 41 weeks and 2 days, my doctor makes an incision at the same place from where my right fallopian tube was removed an year ago. Within the next 20 minutes - out comes our bundle of joy. I am on a high dosage of epidural and Abhinav is all spell bound and speechless at the same time. Spellbound at the happiness to hold the little one in his very own hands; and speechless since those two days of labor were the toughest part of the whole process for both of us.

I continued to remain under the influence of percocet and other strong medications for several days to come after that. My thinking ability had diminished considerably and I was deep into the illusion of having the most loving, caring and understating husband one could ever dream of; who each day proactively and most willingly prepared fresh meals for me, did the dishes, did the laundry, bought the grocery and even helped me take care of the baby with sweet gestures such as offering to burp him after those 2 hour long feeds. (Needless to mention, my illusion still continues till date)

Here was a dream-come-true husband and the cutest little baby on earth in my own arms... someone who I always wanted to hold, but there was still something which was missing and making me feel miserable. So where was this problem? Well the problem was with the breast feeding. Every time I spoke to a mother or read out a book or something on the internet, I was reassured that even thought pregnancy, labor and delivery were so very troublesome and painful, yet all this suffering would go away once you got to hold your baby. “One look at your baby and you forget all that you suffering you have gone through in the last 9 months.” So all this while I was well prepared reminding myself each and every second 'this too shall pass'. My pregnancy left me week and clumsy; that painstaking labor nearly took away my life and breath; but I tried to be patient thinking that there was a sweet end to it all. The real problem is that no one ever told me what was in store ahead of me. The labor pain lasted only two days, but nursing!!! Each time my baby would latch onto me, I would go through hell. Counting the number of lactation consultants and doctors whom I approached for help during the first 6 weeks after delivery, it totaled to almost least 8 different professionals and plenty of other seasoned moms, before I finally got rid of all the different kinds of pain I endured. Almost every mother whom I speak to now, has her own related painfully story of what she endured. I do wonder why God was so biased towards woman – to make her life starting form puberty to old age, so painful and full of misery.

My baby is now two months. As I awake today, my schedule, as any other day, looks like this. I wake up to see my baby sleeping peacefully on my right side and my husband 'peacefully snoring' on to my left. I thank God to have given me another day in this beautiful life and to be able to see the two most important men of my life both safe and happy. After those initial days of breast pain over now, finally my world is nothing short from being perfect. As I get up to head towards the bathroom, within fractions of a minute a quiet murmur turns into a wild roar! No time to even dry my hands! I run back to the bedroom, feed the baby, change his diaper, help him fall back asleep and when he is finally asleep... run again!! This time I run to brush, take a quick shower and greet Good Morning to all the Gods and Goddess sitting at the altar. Then I finally run to the kitchen to gulp down something down my throat into the ever starving stomach. Only as I sit down and bring the first spoon near my mouth does my baby awake and again starts the whole process of feeding, diaper change and helping the baby to go back to sleep; well the last bit only if he alone is in the mood of a nap. For else if not, I need to play with him. And I guess you do know what playing with a toddler looks like. He is too young to understand bricks or balls, yet alone hold them; and too old to find the heart beat music CD any further appealing. So basically playing means having a constant communication and not just playing any recorded sound, but having a constant eye contact accompanied with laughing, tickling, swaying, rocking and engaging the little one in new and creative ways. I am sitting all alone with my little one, wondering how on earth does India top the world at number two in population. Suddenly my baby starts crying again. Looks like he is sleepy and is no mood to play any longer. Okay well, we all know who’s boss in our home. So I help him sleep and then sneak away quietly.

Something else that I was never told about was my new diet. Thanks to the breastfeeding; because of this atrocious diet, that I have developed in the recent months, I am confused on who between me and my baby pooh-poohs more. Well as if all the trouble till now was not enough. As I head towards the bathroom one more time, the tiny being; realizing that him mommy decided to leave him for the next 10 minutes; who was peacefully sleeping (or whom I thought to be sleeping) has suddenly woken from him slumber. Within minutes a small wailing has manifested into another ever louder howl. I run back to my baby. Upon seeing his mother gasping for breath with half the pressure still inside within her... he gives the cutest smile you could ever imagine. And with that smile, the huge mountain of anger within me suddenly disappears into thin air.

But realization soon dawns upon me. Life is so miserable after Abhinav leaves for office and I am all alone with the baby. If at all there’s any relief, it’s in the fact that his dad would be soon back from office, it not more at least in the next 8-9 hours. To top it all, when the reward of every feeding is that 1/5 th of the milk is all over the place; including but not limited to his onesie, pajamas, mommy’s top and pajamas, in addition to either the sofa, bed or swing, depending upon how many hours have elapsed after he felt the need to spit up the nth time. So the only time that I get after either feeding him or feeding myself, goes into wiping up all the mess. Why did I get into all this trouble in the first case? What was wrong with me to have decided to have a baby! After spitting up that milk, the next moment my baby is all settled – and now with a full stomach and all the gas (along with that milk) outside already; he smiles once more; occasionally bursting into 2 seconds of laughter. I feel dreadful for being the worst ever mom to have had those horrible thoughts within me. In my mind I am already pleading guilty and as a dutiful mom quickly grab some more baby wipes to clear up all the mess. Its time to play with my little one again.

Life continues. Days roll into weeks. Weeks roll into months. 2 days from now, my baby will be 3 months. As I reflect on the past 3 months after his arrival, I ponder on my daily routine. On any given day, one or more of the following happens: I am either sleep deprived, or food deprived, or occasional my pain returns back; or its all of the above at the same time! If not feeding my own or my little one's tummy, you can see me hastily paying my medical bills or doing something which has already been left up to the 11th hour and can not be delayed any further. All my life’s dreams have now diminished to a mere desire to be able to sit down for just 15 minutes and collect myself and my own thoughts. I am angry with myself, even though I realize that I should instead be thankful for everything that has been bestowed upon me. I try to be logical and question my own thoughts. I reason with myself, and tell myself that my baby never asked me to give him birth. It was my own decision to bring him into this world. Who am I to blame now? My baby is wide awake and cooing and wailing at the same time. He eventually manages to grab my attention. I look at him and smile back. Once again my creativity creeps from within and we begin to play a new game. I am thinking, God was cunning enough to have made babies cute, or else who could have possibly been able to raise them.

After half an hour of fun time, my baby starts to cry again. Making him sit in all possible positions and with everything else in place and nothing working; looks like he is hungry again. After another painful feeding session, as I wipe the spit up milk one more time, I decide to google, determined to find a solution to the spitting problem this time. I learn that all babies spit; but then the question is how much? The only solution explained is to cut the amount of milk the baby gets in. But as a mother haven’t I always been worried whether mine was getting enough in the first place? And now they tell me cut off even that little intake he gets. More so, in world full of chubby babies around me, it only concerns me that mine’s the skinniest one of them all (yeah … being a first time mother, I am an expert to find things to worry about, even after repeated reassurances by the most qualified pediatrician that my baby is doing just FINE). After much thought, I decide to watch the clock at his next feed; after all it might also save me from those tears of pain I shed, each time he latches to me. By evening I worry more than ever of having kept him hungry enough and happily give way to let him eat as much as he likes, till he starts playing 'latch-on and latch off and cry-when-unlatched' thinking of it as a very appealing new game.

By the time Abhinav is back from office in the evening, I am all but a grunting mother, complaining about anything and everything that I can think of. How the little one didn’t let me take a 5 min nap or how I couldn't even eat a single meal in peace, or how terrible has been the feeding experience and how I had planned to complete at least two tasks and haven't got to either one; also including some perennial but nonsensical remarks of how bad a husband has he been of late; which of course has nothing to do with the rest of my complains; but without which my grunting would sound - you know - sort of incomplete. Abhinav gives an expression of empathy but uses his selective listening skills to skillfully ignore all what I have just blurted out. He holds the baby and I hide myself away. An hour or two passes by quickly and as I am running errands around the home, I catch my baby gazing in my direction and smiling at me at the same time. My heart melts. I feel nasty at my earlier thoughts. There is a gush of love and I desperately cuddle my little darling into my arms. With that begins the usual bedtime routine and after a solid two hours of tummy time, massage time, bath time, feed and change time; as I finally put him in his crib for sleep time, he starts wailing again. God! could life be any more miserable?

Today it’s bright and sunny in Seattle (yeah sunny and Seattle don’t go together, but it’s been an exception today). It’s the perfect time to sit down, enjoy the sun and express myself. As my busy fingers pour down (read: type out) my months of frustration, I glance over to my little one, and once more all my frustration is gone... Oh what’s this. Looks like he is hungry again. Off I go to take care of my little one, one more time. After all, isn't it my little bundle of joy that means everything to me in this world.

Quick Tips when a baby is around the corner

One of my dear friends is pregnant and I am super happy for her. Heres a quickie of what I intended to share with her. Hope it helps other would be moms too.

As I was trying to recollect what should she buy. Heres what I could recollect. Got to write it all down before I totally forget in the next few years :)

Medications and Oils:

Eucalyptus oil - Most helpful in colds and coughs. Put 1-4 drops in a pan of boiling water. Have your baby in your lap. Ask your spouse to cover you both with a blanket. The steam carrying vapors of the oil help open us blocked nostrils.

For clearing nose snorts.Nosefrida Aspirator/ - Highly recommended on Amazon

Baby friendly thermometer. (One with more plastic and less glass exposed for the risk of falling down and breaking into pieces)

Fever medication. (I am against western medication (also known as allopathy) However this is one thing, I believe your home should have. ) India - paracetamol broken into tinier pieces helps. In US, stores sell Tylenol specific to the baby's age group.

Clothes
Shoes, slippers, sandles until age 6 months is a total waste of money. Another total waste of money are hand mittens. (better use socks to prevent the baby from scratching her/himself)

Fancy clothes are useless too. The baby remains swaddled mostly or is throwing up or is getting a massage ( Very important to do - for proper blood circulation). Hence buttonless, hookless, pinless, too much of strings and addons less are recommended. Basically simple designs on gentle fabric (preferably organic) cottons are the best. Have at least 6-8 pairs of dresses on hand.

Try to keep the head covered as much as possible. The reason is a lot of heat is lost from the head. The fat is what helps the baby to stay warm. A new baby is born without the fat - to help itself easily squeeze out of a mom's vagina during birth.

Additional layers - to the extent that the baby is not loosing a ton of its body's water in sweat are always recommended too.

Cloths
(1) 5-8 burp clothes. Size approx: 1'x6'' ( 1 feet by 6 inches)
(2) 10-12 bed sheets. Size approx: 3'x2'. Preferably with plastic beneath and (organic is best) cotton on the side facing the baby.
(3) 4-6 swaddlers. Minimum size approx 2'x2'.

If you are India, you can tear a nice bedsheet into squares and rectangles. In US, if you are on a low budget, there is at least one Dollar Store in every neighborhood. You might have to visit a few of these stores to get everything you have on your list. They are unpredictable in what they carry. If you and your partner are ok with using second hand products - local Thrift stores are a good option too.

People / Newsletters I read and subscribed to
You will be spending a ton of time just sitting with newly born in your lap. So I HIGHLY recommend you always the the material next to you bedside / listen to / watch that you always wanted to read, but could not do so in the past due to lack of time.

For Birth Plans and Info on intervention-less deliveries
1. https://www.pennysimkin.com/articles-resources/ - Check File Library
2. If you are in the US, you are allowed to make way more choices. Heres an idea on how to write a birth plan.
3. If I know you personally, I would be happy to share my personal birth plan with me. Just shoot me an email.

Newsletters I subscribed to:
Also when I was pregnant with Atharv, for baby related info, I had subscribed to tons of websites. The more one reads, the less there is worry about the day-to-day changes that are part of the growing process of a newly born baby.

Babycenter.com AND Babycenter.co.in,
Ivillage.parenting.com,
Indianparenting.com,
Swedish /Overlake/ Group - which ever your hospital is. They too have nice info.

Post Delivery
Let me stress on this once again You will never again get this kind of time to read this much until several years in future. Here are some suggestions based on your interests
1. Books (Novels, Non-fiction, technical), Magazines
2. Audible.com (If a laptop is not feasible, there is an app for smartphone
3. Documentaries, TV serials on Netflix, Youtube, Youku etc.

*****

Handling the 'Law' (especially Mother In Law!)
You will get a ton of advice from your MIL. Some of her requests are doable. Some is not. Its your baby and not your MIL. Your focus should be on what is best for your baby and not how to explain situations to your MIL.  For instance, if you MIL expects you to keep your hands, legs and and head self covered - she has a point to make there. I did it with my second one and there is marked improvement of handling temperature variations in the second one than my first one. ( There were other factors too, such as my first one was a winter baby, where as the second one was a summer one. Plus by the time the second one came, we became vegans - which boosted the general immunity of my family by many times). Any how the point I was coming to. If you feel suffocated with a cap in 40 degrees celsius - you can very well show her you that you tried just because you wanted to be a good DIL and have been sweating since the last 30 minutes and perhaps are on the verge of a severe dehydration by now... which is worst for your kid than not wearing a cap yourself. Let her take the call and make her feel proud to have made that choice that over clothing the new mom was a bad idea to begin with. Win-win situation for both.

If your baby's no longer an infant, heres a nice business idea - Start a 'MIL Management sessions'. I bet there are a lot who would like to join ;)

More later.

New Born Infant Care - Tips and Remedies

This is a collection of tips that I my mommy and friends have been giving for the past some time. I hope other moms and would-be-moms find it useful too:

=> CHILD SAFETY
http://www.toysrus.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=2964402

=> Top six reasons of why a baby cries These are in order of more probable occurrence.

Understanding and Responding to Baby’s Cries
Crying increases over the first six to eight weeks, then begins to taper off. There may be no identifiable cause of crying (perhaps to release stress). In newborns, assume that crying means hunger and offer feedings. If feeding does not relieve crying, try swaddling and cuddling the baby.

1. Needs Feed - Baby is hungry
2. Diaper change - Baby's Diaper is wet. Normally immediately after a feed.
3. Gas / Colic
4. Sleepy - Needs help to go to sleep
5. Temperature - Baby is feeling too cold or too hot
6. Boredom - Baby has been alone for a while or needs some attention

In all cases, the baby cries in a different way, which people close to the mother such as the mummy or daddy will instinctively understand.

=> TOP FIVE REASONS WHY BABY MAY WAKE UP IN THE NIGHT, for no good reason:

1. Baby is teething
2. Baby has a diaper rash.
3. Needs Feed - Baby is hungry
4. There is too much noise.
5. Baby had a bad dream.

=> SIGNS OF COLIC

Doctors say these are the signs of colic:

1. Baby must cry at least 3 hours a day
2. This must happen at least 3 days a week
3. This must continue at least for 3 weeks

. Colic begins in the first 3 weeks of life and rarely lasts longer than 3 months.
. It occurs in otherwise healthy babies.
. Changing the formula
. Changing to Soy Milk
. Try the car ride
. Generally happens at afternoon and evenings and may last upto 24 hours
. Baby may given a bath, a dim light, a light music, vacuum cleaner (white noise) - helped someone from 3-6 months
. In all cases, the baby cries in a different way, which people close to the mother such as the mummy or daddy will instinctively understand.

=> Remedies for Gas

NOTE: Do not give anything to a baby less than 6 months

Babies LESS than 6 months:
1. Burp - Two positions:
(i)- Hold the baby in upright position giving support of your shoulder. Gently pat on back till baby burps.
(ii) Make the baby sit on your thigh. gently rotate your hand on the back.
2. Make the baby lye down, and gently rotate legs in cyclic movement, so that gas automatically passes from bottom.
3. Make the baby lye down and fold / bend at the knees - this will put pressure and gas will pass from bottom
4. Apply some luke warm oil and hing on the naval. One friend even suggested mixing hing in warm water.
5. Potty / Gas: Massage on the stomach.
(i) 5 times - starting from under rib cage in clockwise direction ->
(ii) Starting from navel - to down below in a vertical line.

Babies MORE than 6 months:
4. Boil chutki bhar ajwain in 2 table spoons water. Give 2-3 drops of the water
5. Grips Water??
6. ColicAid
7. Jayfal + badaam -> 2-4 pieces grind on chandan silbatta sized - > FOR WHAT???

1. 3 month old has terrible
gas

I wanted to recommend you try Gripe Water for your baby's gas. I used all kinds of gas drops when Nev first came home and none of them helped until I used the Gripe Water. IT IS AMAZING! It not only takes away hiccups the INSTANT you give it to the babies but after using it, I have never had issues with her having any gas pain at all. It's all natural too - just another bonus. Some pharmacy's carry it but most pharmacists don't know what it is if you ask for it. Babies-R-Us carries it, if you find it buy a few bottles because it's nice to have backups and don't forget it MUST BE KEPT REFRIDGERATED! :-)

Ref: http://www.babycenter.com/400_what-can-i-do-about-my-babys-terrible-gas_500562_1000.bc

TIPS FOR MOM
1. Third trimester may come with bleeding gums. If so, dip brush in Listerine and use brush when gums bleed.
2. If feet are tired - soak feet in mild warm salt water – ease tiredness and swelling.
3. To prevent mom from having constipation at delivery and immediately after -
i. Have Prune / Prune Juice / Plums
ii. Isabgol
iii. Nash-pati

CARE WHILE BATHING
1. Before dipping baby, perform the elbow test. Dip your elbow in water to check temperature of water, Our hands a=can tolerate much higher temperatures and are not good to judge whether the water is too hold or too cold.
2. Take care that the water does not reach the ears. For this - bath the baby is three separate steps. (a)Wash hair (b) Wash body separate (c) Wipe face using sponge of towel.

UBPAN
Ubtan - after 1 month
1. rai + baadam + kesar - pees ke ->
2. chiraunji - soack in kacha doodh - then pees lo -> (optioanlly add kesar)
3. chokar + malai + doodh -> make thick paste

New Born ubtan:
aata loi -> upar direction ->

OTHER GENERIC THINGS TO TAKE CARE OF
1. Sterilize your open toys / gifts before giving to the baby.
2. Never give unboiled water to baby
3. Dissolve homeo in water. do not give homeo tablets, to avoid choking.
4. When baby has gas, boil chukti ajwain in little water and give 2-3 drops of water.
5. Don't use ear buds for cleaning the ears. Leave them as such. Only clean the ear lobes (i.e. the visible part of the ears). Once in a while, or if there is too much wax inside, then use cloth and little finger.
6. When using pins, e.g. in diapers - use only double lock pins.

=> Estimated Costs in US in Year 1 of Baby

0700 - Diapers
1500 - Formula
4000 - Day Care for 4 months
1000 - Clothes
---------------------
07200 - Approx costs
---------------------

=>TUMMY TIME (making the baby lye on stomach)
The baby's tummy time should start at 1 month.
Supervised daily tummy time should be a part of the routine.
At 1 month, the baby will be able to lift her head for just a few seconds.
Start at 2-5 min in the beginning.
Tummy time provide shoulders stability, head support, development of strength in the hands.
Should NOT BE done immediately after feeding.
Best place is the floor.
Initially the baby should be provided support with the help of a rolled receiving blanked or a towel under the chest to raise her up. This will make it easier for her lift and turn her head.
Keep the session short at first. Try to start with 2-5 minutes a few times each day.
You may lie on your back and place the baby on her tummy on your knees.
During tummy time, give your baby something to do, such as stimulating toys or mirror.

=>KEEP THESE NUMBERS HANDY ALL THE TIME

1. Your own mobile and home phone numbers
2. Your address
3. Child's Pediatrician
4. Emergency Medical Services (911)
5. Police (911)
6. Your hospital
7. Poison Control Center

=>BOTTOM LINE:
1. There's no point in trying to make a schedule for the baby to sleep the 1st few weeks or the first few months. Rather concentrate on enjoying that time. Babies wont sleep through out the night untill unless they are 3 months of age or are 12-13 lbs.
2. Sleep when you baby sleeps. Do no work when baby sleeps.

=> Bed Time Routine may be started at around 6-8 weeks. E.g.
1. Wash up
2. Put on Pajamas.
3. Read a Book.
4. Sing a song.
5. Say goodnight to toys and pictures in the room.

Activities performed in a ritual each night, make a soothing routine that helps put your baby in the mood for sleep.

If the baby is overactive and having difficult time sleeping, then he might not be getting enough hours of sleep and being hyper-active to counter effect. In that case, every 5 days increase the infant's sleep by 15 minutes. Continue this for at least 5 days, before the infant gets used to it. Then make the infant sleep another 15 minutes earlier for the next 5 days. Continue increasing sleep time, till you find that the infant stops being fussy about going to sleep.

Also try not to make the baby sleep in your arms each time. Try to leave the baby in the crib, kiss him and walk away and make it a habit for him to help him sleep on its own.

Signs that baby is getting enough milk

Initiating Breastfeeding

1. The best time to introduce the baby to the breast is within the first hour of life.
2. That does not mean that parents should wait an hour to initiate breastfeeding but rather to look for signs that the baby is ready to nurse (known as signs of "readiness") that typically occur within the first few minutes of life.
3. Here are some signs of readiness that shows the baby is ready to breastfeed:

i. Rooting - turning the head to the side and opening the mouth
ii. Sucking - the baby may suck her fingers or tongue or even a finger if placed in the baby's mouth

4. Ensure to clean before and after feeding
5. Npple crack - problem faced when breastfeeding. Solution: Apply coconut oil before bath and wash off with besan....
6. It takes time to learn how to "let down" to a pump. This reflex is the hormonally triggered release of milk from the cells where it is made and can be psychologically triggered or stopped. While breastpumping, I encourage women not to stare at the pump," Harvey says. Instead, watch TV, listen to music, or talk to a friend on the phone, since a pleasant diversion can actually aid milk flow. Moms who are separated from their babies may encourage letdown by calling home and listening to the baby's sounds. They can also listen to a tape of the baby babbling, look at a picture of him or her, or hold something that smells like their baby.

=> Cleaning Diaper Area

1. If using commercial wipes, invert the container between use so that the top wipes are always very moist and therefore less abrasive. If the baby’s bottom becomes irritated, you may want to use wet, soft paper towels or “cotton” balls (actually, it’s often easier to find polyester balls) instead of the commercial wipes. Some parents keep a Thermos jug of warm water and a roll of soft paper towels or “cotton” balls on the diaper table. Pat bottom dry and then allow to air dry for a few minutes.
2. Avoid using baby wipes that contain alcohol, it will irritate the skin of your baby

=> WHEN THE BABY STARTS WALKING
1. Experts say there is no need to worry if the baby starts with pigeon toe(toes bent inside). The baby's feet usually correct themselves, the more the baby walks.
2. But do talk to your doctor, if you notice the following:
(i) Walking on toes for more than 6 months - a sign that the baby may have a tight achiles tendon.
(ii) An uneven leg length - which may also look like a unsteady gait.
(iii) If the baby suddenly stops walking - may be due to an emotional or medical cause.

3. BABY shoes should not be given preference over bare feet. Bare feet are the best.

OTHER THINGS TO DO

For Nausea:

Nothing worked for me alone, but cumulatively all 5 together they helped me feel better and be in control:

1. http://www.amazon.com/Sea-Band-Sea-Band-Adult/dp/B00196PI7E/ - I used these bands

2. http://www.amazon.com/Sea-Band-Anti-Nausea-Ginger-Gum/dp/B000K7B5FC/ - these gums have very short lived relief, but now I am again using them in my 9th month

3. http://www.amazon.com/Stash-Premium-Raspberry-Herbal-20-Count/dp/B000CQBZOW/ - sometimes had this tea

4. I also had Vitamin B6 through out my pregnancy, in addition to Pre-natal Vitamins. When my 100 tablet bottle got over by 4th – 5th month, I stopped having B6. With stopping it my nausea returned back. So I started taking it again,

5. I had ordered this homeopathy medicine and http://www.hmedicine.com/homeopathic/medicine/1066/q_morning%20sickne - and avoided brushing my teeth or having any strong spices / flavors at least ½ hour before and after the medicine.

---------------

Must do – rest – take lots and lots of rest – if you feel like sleeping 16 hours a day – do it.
Before 16 weeks call AETNA (if that’s your health insurance provider) – they give you freebies (mainly reading material) if you call them in time.

WHAT TO EAT (just as we discussed)

Plenty of water – number #1 guaranteed remedy for menstrual like cramps during pregnancy
Plenty of fruits – not coz they are good for but coz they are the only thing that help you keep going, keep your throat from drying and fill your stomach

BOTTOM LINE:

Eat what you like to - listen to what you love to hear – do what interests you – live your life as your body tells you to – there absolutely no need to pay attention to what the world tells you to do (that includes everyone on this earth)…
